Chapter 575 - 572: Wild Mo Qi
As long as Gu Zetao didn’t actively make a move and cause a disturbance, Cultivators below the Immortal Level would be unable to lock onto his position.
Unfortunately, Mo Qi’s perception could directly target Life Energy.
No matter how powerful the Shadow Kill Bloodline was, it couldn’t change Gu Zetao’s fundamental life essence.
As long as that essence remained unchanged, he couldn’t escape Mo Qi’s eyes.
So, while others might think Gu Zetao had vanished, in Mo Qi’s eyes, it was a classic case of burying one’s head in the sand.
Mo Qi could see his every move with perfect clarity.
"No! This is impossible! It must be luck! That’s right, that’s what it has to be! Are you trying to trick me?"
Gu Zetao absolutely refused to believe that Mo Qi could see through his invisibility. This was the absolute confidence he had built up in his Shadow Kill Bloodline over many years.
Roaring, Gu Zetao once again entered his invisible state.
Mo Qi sighed helplessly. ’It’s one thing to not turn back until you’ve hit a wall, but why are there so many people in this world who refuse to turn back even after they’ve smashed their heads open?’
He rolled his shoulders, hefted the Obsidian Cauldron, and took a few steps forward. He then unleashed a flurry of thirteen consecutive strikes on a certain corner.
CLANG CLANG CLANG CLANG CLANG CLANG CLANG...
"AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH..."
The sound of a hard object striking the bottom of the cauldron, accompanied by a blood-curdling scream, composed a desolate symphony.
The siblings, Gu Peng and Gu Lele, were both dumbfounded.
They watched as, after each of Mo Qi’s strikes, a spray of blood would shoot out from beneath the cauldron.
Mo Qi, now enjoying himself, cursed as he continued the beating.
CLANG!
"Take that for acting all high and mighty! I, Mo Qi, hate pretentious phonies like you the most."
CLANG!
"Take that for running your mouth! How dare you call my brother a servant? Lowly? I spit on you!"
CLANG!
"Take that for being such a degenerate! You think you’re justified after stealing someone else’s bloodline?"
CLANG!
"Take that for lecturing me about rules! Today, I’m gonna make you see why the flowers are so red!"
CLANG CLANG CLANG!
The scene was utterly miserable.
Gu Lele, at the side, covered her mouth, watching in astonishment as Mo Qi savagely beat Gu Zetao.
In her mind, Mo Qi had always been a gentle, big-brother figure.
He always had a simple, honest smile on his face and never got angry.
This was the first time she had ever seen such a wild side to Mo Qi.
But she wasn’t disappointed in Mo Qi at all. Instead, she thought to herself, ’Brother Mo seems even more handsome like this!’
"Enough!" Gu Zetao suddenly appeared, straightening his back and roaring in anger.
Mo Qi’s upraised cauldron froze in midair.
The two of them stared at each other.
One second... two seconds... three seconds...
Mo Qi brought the bottom of the cauldron down on Gu Zetao’s skull again.
CLANG!
"You fucking dare to yell at me?"
Clutching his head, now swollen like a pig’s, Gu Zetao backed into a corner, his body slowly sliding down until he was slumped on the floor.
He wanted to circulate his True Essence to fight back, but for some reason, a mysterious force had severed the connection between him and his Dantian.
As for a physical fight, what could he do against Mo Qi, who was armed with the Obsidian Cauldron? He was in utter despair!
Mo Qi put away the Obsidian Cauldron, walked over to Gu Zetao, squatted down, and reached out to straighten his messy collar.
Gu Zetao wanted to dodge, but the spirit was willing while the flesh was weak. He could only stare daggers at Mo Qi, his eyes filled with resentment.
Mo Qi ignored him. "Tsk, tsk, how pathetic. I can tell you hate my guts. I’m squatting right here in front of you, but what can you possibly do to me?"
Gu Zetao froze. Those words were so familiar.
Weren’t these the exact words he had said to Gu Peng earlier?
Mo Qi had thrown them right back at him, word for word.
"Alright, it’s time to pay your debt. The Shadow Kill Bloodline doesn’t belong to you."
With a thought from Mo Qi, a Spatial Blade slashed open Gu Zetao’s clothes and pressed against his heart.
"No, no, no, stop! Please, I’m begging you! As long as you spare me, I’ll do anything." Gu Zetao panicked, his face a mask of misery as he begged for mercy, not a trace of his previous arrogance remaining.
His status in the Gu Family, all the honor and glory he possessed, stemmed from the Shadow Kill Bloodline.
Once he lost the Shadow Kill Bloodline, even with his grandfather as the family’s Grand Elder, he would inevitably be cast aside.
What’s more, it seemed Mo Qi and the others had no intention of letting him live.
To him, nothing was more important than his own life.
"Tell me, what’s the difference between you now and a dog wagging its tail, begging for scraps?" Mo Qi once again threw Gu Zetao’s humiliating words for Gu Peng back at him.
But Gu Zetao just nodded repeatedly. "Yes, yes, yes, I am a dog wagging its tail and begging. Please, I’m begging you, let me go."
Gu Zetao’s complete lack of spine actually left Mo Qi a bit bewildered.
’This kind of trash was slated to be a family candidate?’
’He had the guts to steal someone’s bloodline?!’
As this thought crossed Mo Qi’s mind, he suddenly demanded, "Speak. Who was the mastermind behind the plot against Lele back then!"
Gu Zetao didn’t dare hide a thing, spilling it all out in a rush.
"It was my grandfather! He did it all himself! I was tricked by him too! At the time, he told me he’d found a superior Talent Bloodline for me. It was only after I fused with it that I found out it belonged to little sister Lele!"
Gu Zetao looked at Gu Peng imploringly. "Brother Gu, you have to believe me. We grew up together. You know what kind of person I am better than anyone."
"And Lele, I truly thought of you as my own sister. When your bloodline was stolen, you should have died on the spot. It was me who begged my grandfather to give you an Elixir and save your life!"
Mo Qi was speechless. To curry favor, this low-life had sold out his own grandfather in the blink of an eye, and so thoroughly at that.
If you could believe a word from someone like him, the Pig Emperor could climb trees!
Wait, no!
The Pig Emperor *can* climb trees!
It should be: If you could believe a word from someone like him, the Pig Emperor could lose weight.
Gu Peng and Gu Lele watched Gu Zetao’s performance with cold eyes.
He was putting on a show, but they refused to play their part.
If Gu Zetao hadn’t said all those humiliating things earlier, and had instead sincerely apologized from the very beginning, perhaps Gu Peng and Gu Lele would have believed him.
"Gu Zetao, the way you are now truly disgusts me!" Gu Peng wondered if he had been out of his mind all those years to have actually considered this piece of trash a brother.
It was an absolute disgrace!
Gu Zetao didn’t seem the least bit upset. On the contrary, he bowed and scraped, saying, "Yes, yes, yes, I know I’m disgusting. I know I was wrong. Just treat me like a fart and let me go."
Gu Peng: "..."
He felt that saying even one more word to Gu Zetao would be an insult to his own character.
"If apologies were enough, what would be the point of this Cultivation?" Mo Qi waved his hand lightly, and the Spatial Blade plunged into Gu Zetao’s heart.
Gu Zetao’s body stiffened. He slowly lowered his head and saw blood gushing from his chest like a fountain.
His life was rapidly fading away.
"By doing this, you’re just courting death!" Gu Zetao roared.
Since there was no room for negotiation, there was no longer any need to beg and plead softly.
"If I die, you won’t live for long either!"
"Gu Peng, Gu Lele, you two lowly servants will die horrible deaths! Mo Qi, you’ve gravely underestimated the power of our North District! I’ll be waiting for you in the underworld!"
