Chapter 724 - 643: Schrodinger’s Destiny, the Storm Approaches...
After a cordial meeting with the Destiny 103 team, suspected to be a "wild treasure chest," Feng Mu did not refuse the team’s "invitation to join." However, he didn’t immediately accept it either.
He needed to confirm whether Team 103 was really the "wild treasure chest" before making a final decision.
Additionally, he had another concern—even if he joined Team 103, he couldn’t be on call all the time.
He could play the role of the Mask, but he couldn’t always be the Mask. Most of the time, he had to switch back to his main identity, Feng Mu.
Fortunately, Team 103 was considerate and didn’t pressure him to make an immediate decision.
After exchanging contact information, Feng Mu excused himself to chase after "Old Huang," preparing to leave first.
"Zheng Hang, who are you looking for? We can help you. To be honest, we’re very good at finding people."
Wild Beast interjected gruffly, apparently not noticing the Master of Ceremonies’ disapproving look. He pounded his solid chest enthusiastically, making a deep thumping sound.
The Master of Ceremonies sighed helplessly, nodded along, and introduced Wu Shou, who was doing his best to stay inconspicuous:
"That’s right, our team has a human navigator. As long as you provide the correct name and photo, we can find anyone within a hundred miles."
Feng Mu’s gaze swiftly shifted to Wu Shou, saying meaningfully:
"Sure you can find anyone?"
Wu Shou was unnerved by Feng Mu’s gaze, cautiously lowering his head to avoid eye contact:
"Not... not everyone. If the person uses false information or has special detection-blocking tools, then we can’t find them."
"Oh, I see."
Feng Mu squinted, not asking further, yet understanding in his heart,
"So that’s his purpose, huh? It seems that Zuo Bai was found by Team 103 this way."
To be honest, such a useful navigator is something he’d like to have too.
Feng Mu politely declined Team 103’s offer of assistance in finding someone:
"No need, it’s a private matter. I can handle it myself."
He joked that after going through so much trouble to let "Old Huang" escape, he wouldn’t dare let Team 103 find him again.
Feng Mu collected himself, though his face grew more amiable and apologetic:
"Thanks again for your generosity. I appreciate it, but I’m currently stretched thin. Could I temporarily leave it with your team? After I handle my business, I’ll come back to retrieve it."
He adopted a humble attitude, providing sufficient reason, leaving a hook for future contact.
Team 103 exchanged knowing glances and made no attempt to stop him.
Feng Mu said no more, turning and swiftly vanishing into the dense night.
After Feng Mu’s presence completely disappeared beyond their perception, Wild Beast scratched his spikey short hair, his thick eyebrows knotted:
"Did the Mask agree or not? I’m a little confused!"
Red Dragonfly licked her red lips:
"Halfway agreed, but not entirely. However, there’s no rush; his final attitude towards Destiny seemed genuinely friendly, not feigned.
He said all of us in Destiny were good people, huh? I like him."
The Master of Ceremonies rolled his eyes silently, wiping blood from his face as he spoke in a deep voice:
"Though there were some misunderstandings during the process, the outcome isn’t bad. After all, we never expected to recruit the Mask in one go.
This person’s distrust is significant; trust... takes time to build."
The Captain of the Constables grunted, glanced at the two "bodies" on the ground, and sighed:
"At least we have contact information; that’s the first step to success. This place isn’t safe; we should leave first."
As he finished speaking.
The group quickly left, ignoring the bodies on the ground.
Unfortunately, the taxi was destroyed, so they had to leave on foot.
Wu Shou looked at the remains of his wrecked beloved car, summoning the courage to tentatively ask:
"Um, my car is totaled, so could I perhaps...."
Before he could finish, the Master of Ceremonies stopped and slowly turned around.
His blood-stained face revealed a gentle and polite smile again, though his eyes were devoid of warmth:
"Oh, I truly apologize; our actions caused you to lose your beloved car. It was indeed our oversight. But please rest assured, Destiny never mistreats friends.
We will definitely compensate you with a brand new, better-performing car, guaranteed satisfaction."
Wu Shou’s face fell instantly, displaying a smile uglier than crying: "Tha... Thank you."
God knows, he really didn’t intend to ask for compensation; he didn’t mean that at all.
He wanted to say he didn’t need compensation, but he didn’t dare. He had to want it, and show a grateful expression.
Since there’s compensation, naturally he had to continue obediently following until he received it.
Zuo Bai remained in a daze throughout. With his top scientist’s logic, he couldn’t quite figure out his current situation.
Destiny handed me over to the Mask.
The Mask accepted me, then left me with Destiny.
So, do I now belong to the Mask or to Destiny?
Good news, I apparently don’t have to be slaughtered right away?
Bad news, I’m unsure if they’re planning to fatten me up first before slaughtering?
Zuo Bai felt a chill in his heart, as if his fate was still in Schrodinger’s state.
He shook his head vigorously, then silently followed at the back of the group.

The heavy oak doors of the villa, like a barrier between life and death.
