How I Accidentally Built a Kingdom

Chapter 82 - I’m Going To See My Lovelys

The moment we stepped through the portal we were in the training area of the mercenary barracks.

"Will you be able to get us back?" Erick asked, as he stood looking around at the familiar space.

"Yes," I answered. "I can open a portal almost anywhere, as long as I can visualise the space I want it to open perfectly."

"Which means that even though the carriage keeps moving, I can still open a portal into it."

"That’s..." Erick started, looking at me with a slack jaw again. "That’s actually amazing, so we can be travelling, without ever actually travelling."

"Exactly," I smiled.

"Thank everything that’s good," Erick said, rubbing his back. "That carriage ride was going to be the end of me, I’d much rather run the entire way."

"It didn’t sound like it was bothering you all that much with the way you were snoring away," I laughed.

"Anyway, I’m going to go see my lovelys," I said, interrupting Erick’s clear attempts at denial by stepping back through a new portal. "By the way, try not to be seen by too many people while we’re here.."

A moment later I stepped out of the portal into our room at the inn, unfortunately said room was completely empty, and cold.

Damn I hate the cold.

Night had already fallen, so luckily I knew exactly where my wives would be.

A smile spread across my face again at the thought of their reactions when they saw me.

"Darkness cover me, shadows conceal me, so none may know my presence," I whispered, remembering the words Julia had drilled into me from the moment we had started training my darkness element together.

I slipped out the door of our room, completely shrouded by shadows, and made my way to the diner.

As I slipped past people one-by-one, I couldn’t help but feel excited that they had no idea I was walking among them.

Honestly, I could think of so much I could do with this magic, that I had never gotten around to.

And no... I’m not talking about peeping.

I’m not that kind of person.

Although... it would be the perfect spell for it.

I could walk around in my bathhouse without anyone being the wiser... ahem, ahem, but like I said I would never do something like that. I’m a married man after all.

Finally I made it to the diner... and there they were.

The two beauties I had so longed to see again, to hold again, to...

You don’t need to know what else I had longed for, those are private matters after all.

Both of them were working behind the bar, serving drinks to the villagers that were waiting for tables in the diner, or those that had simply come for a drink.

And honestly if my drinks were being served by two beauties of their standard I would spend every night in the bar.

So it’s not like I could blame the men who only came for a drink.

Although some of their gazes did... unsettle me a bit, especially those bastards that leaned over the counter every time Julia bent over to get something.

Or the ones that would practically drool when Cat turned around to get something from the racks behind them.

How dared they look at my wives with such gazes, only I was allowed such... privileges.

Which of course meant that I couldn’t help but walk up behind those men and give them massive slaps to the back of their heads.

Which might have confused them a bit, since they were being slapped around by... no-one.

At least I was trying to be inconspicuous about it, I waited for everyone to be distracted by something before I made my move, and gave them their due wacks.

They should be happy that I knew them, and liked them, or else their punishment for those lecherous gazes would have been a lot worse.

After I had had my fill of slapping them around, so much in fact that they decided it would be best if they went home for the night, believing they had drunk too much. I made my move around the counter.

Coming to stand right between my lovely Cat, and Julia, my fingers were itching to touch them. I could almost feel them in my arms, how soft and warm they would be.

It became so very hard to control myself.

None of you would understand how much I had missed them over the more than a week we had been gone.

But I knew I couldn’t just suddenly appear out of thin air and hug my wives in front of all of these people.

Even though I trusted most of these villagers with my life, I couldn’t risk people learning that I could teleport around at will.

Finally as the bar started to quieten down, and the villagers started to drift out to go home, I could finally make my move.

Even though I hadn’t dispelled my concealment, I reached an arm around each of their tiny waists, and pulled them into my embrace, burying my nose in their hair.

They smelled so good.

Like home.

Both of them froze at that moment, I could even sense them reaching for their magic power.

So maybe suddenly embracing two of the most powerful women in this world out of the blue wasn’t the best idea, and for a moment thoughts of all the pain that I was about to feel even surfaced in my mind, but it would definitely have been worth it.

"Daniel?" Julia whispered, just as I felt both of them melt into my arms even more.

How they knew it was me, I had no idea, but I was just so happy that they did.

"I’ve missed you," I whispered, even though I knew they wouldn’t be able to hear me through the concealment spell, I had a feeling that the message would get through to them.

I had been away from them for what felt like ages, and I was sure as hell going to make up for lost time.
