Pillar of Yita

Chapter 1934 - 386: The Distant Horizon He Seeks XXV_3

However, the painful wails quickly transformed into a low roar. A shadow rose from Seniman and turned into a thick plume of smoke, enveloping him. In the next moment, the pitch-black smoke surged, revealing a pair of fleshy wings, but they were emaciated and utterly different from the wings of the Dark Giant Dragon.

Beneath the fleshy wings was an exposed spine and pale skin. The curved spinal bones straightened segment by segment, making a creaking sound. Finally, from under the smoke, stood a monster nearly four meters tall, with horns on its head and eyes glowing red.

Fang Hong heard the commotion behind him and, while running, turned his head to look. He just caught sight of this demonic figure and immediately recognized it as Dika's Divine Servant. They had seen this creature outside Quistack City, but this one was clearly an elite version of the Demon Monarch.

After transforming into a Demon Monarch, Seniman emerged from the smoke and swung a claw at Hailan. This Lady Dragon Soul of Ye Hua seemed quite apprehensive of its strength, daring not to cross swords and only sidestepped to evade.

At first, Fang Hong was curious because this Lady Dragon Soul had previously fended off the Phantom of the Dark Giant Dragon single-handedly and even hurled it aside. Yet now, she dared not engage with the demonic Seniman?

Seniman wasn't exactly known for being particularly strong, and even after demon transformation should probably be a spell-casting type.

But to Fang Hong's shock, after Seniman swung a claw, the gust of wind it generated swept across. The plaza before the grand temple 'sank with a crash' at the direction it moved, forming three marks on the ground.

The marks extended forward, and a corner of the plaza collapsed along with it, shattering with a roar. The gust of wind from the three claw marks continued forward, crashing into the mountainside in that direction. The forest tilted as well, and after three loud explosions, only deep grooves were left amidst the swirling dust.

Fang Hong was so astonished by this sight that his eyes almost popped out. What kind of battle strength was this? He had seen battles between top Invokers in the community, but none were this exaggerated.

Only battles between Dragon Knight Rigging could possibly cause such destruction.

This is like a humanoid Gundam! But just a demon transformation—does it really provide such a powerful boost?

Or perhaps, is this really Dika's power?

This suddenly reminded him of the Lady Dragon Soul of Ye Hua earlier, transforming into a Dragon Knight Rigging. This also surpassed his understanding. It seems the combat style in this world is somewhat overturning his perception of strength.

Only then did he retract his gaze, taking a gentle breath. The battle with Seniman was already at this level; what would Dika's transformation be like? Ye Hua and Star left him and the Grand Princess to stop the Evil God. Does Pale Glory truly possess such strength?

For a moment, Fang Hong couldn't help but feel a little nervous.

However, within a moment, he and the Princess arrived before the Holy Sanctuary, both involuntarily slowing their steps.

When viewed from the foot of the mountain, the Holy Sanctuary seemed far less grand and magnificent than it was now. Fang Hong gazed at the towering stone pillars, almost needing seven or eight people to encircle them, standing at least thirty meters high, like giants lined up in front of them.

The lofty archways also resembled a giant's abode, making the two of them standing at the entrance seem as tiny as ants. And this was only a side hall—what level of grandeur would the main hall have?

Looking inside, the sunlight from the archway only extended a short distance inward. Beyond was a pitch-black void, deep and resembling the gaping mouth of a giant beast, instilling unease.

Fang Hong and Princess Rupert exchanged a glance, then walked in together.

From the dazzling sunlight outside to the interior, it took a long time for their eyes to adjust to the darkness. But as Fang Hong looked around, the interior was empty. The time and the builders behind this Holy Sanctuary remained unknown; the hall was empty, with rows of stone pillars as tall as those outside, standing silently.

As they moved forward between the stone pillars, their footsteps echoed in the emptiness. But after walking some distance, Fang Hong suddenly felt like there was another sound amidst the darkness. He stopped abruptly, and far away, the dull footsteps ceased as well. Only the Grand Princess, who took a few more steps, turned back, holding a longsword and glancing in this direction.

From Fang Hong's expression, she seemed to sense something was amiss. She didn't speak, only used her bright eyes to question him.

"What is it?"

Fang Hong didn't answer. He had lost an arm in the battle at Quistack City, and although his injuries healed upon entering this world, the lost hand did not regenerate. Now, when stopped, he wobbled slightly.

But he stabilized himself and, without a word, pulled out a 'Silver Bee' from beneath his coat, tossing it out. The Clockwork Fairy extended its thin wings and buzzed up to the ceiling, a streak of silver light disappearing into the darkness.

The newly replaced night-vision module worked well in this environment. He lowered the Wind Goggles and saw his vision rise into the air. Indeed, behind a stone pillar in that direction, he caught a flash of a massive shadow, vanishing out of sight.

Fang Hong's heart tightened. Just as he was about to direct the Clockwork Fairy to fly towards it, the view through its eyes suddenly shook violently, spinning in a dizzying swirl, and then in an instant, the vision went dark.
