Pillar of Yita

Chapter 1958

"Mr. Knight, the world is changing."

Even before Miss Tata's voice sounded, Fang Hong had already detected the change in the World Law through the Supervisor, as the densely packed numbers on the retina were increasing, and the Ether Nodes were lighting up one after another, filling this originally empty and void Shadow world.

It was as if an irresistible force was breaking through the world's barriers, descending into this world with overwhelming pressure. And that chaotic Ether Force seemed to announce the uninvited guest, revealing its origin.

Fang Hong had indeed guessed the identity of that enormous entity—it was Dika's Divine Strength, passing through the Ether Sea from that dead world, entering this passage.

And between it and the Material Realm, only this last layer of membrane remained.

On the steps, the black-robed Affia finally spoke softly to them, "Mr. Ade, do you really think you can stop me?"

Her words were like a biting cold wind sweeping across the plaza; the slates and steps creaked as a layer of white frost climbed over them. In that moment, the trees froze, and the branches and leaves instantly encased in a thick layer of ice.

Moments earlier, the courtyard was as warm as spring, but it swiftly plunged into the desolation of death.

Ye Hua exhaled and turned to him, "Why does she always talk to you? Logically, I should be more famous, right?"

Fang Hong scratched his head, too embarrassed to say she was his little fan. Even when transformed into Dika, it seemed she inherited part of her memory?

The Grand Princess, gripping her sword, glanced silently at the two. She was still sinking, difficult to pull herself from the low spirits, but these Holy Chosens were indeed nothing like she had known, entangled in these trivialities at such a time?

Yet the softened atmosphere touched her. Rupert brushed the cold Iron Gauntlet against the corner of her mouth, surprisingly finding she'd managed a smile, relaxing a bit.

Ye Hua and Fang Hong's nonchalance seemed to provoke the black-robed girl on the Holy Sanctuary's steps. She gently closed her mouth, lips pressing into a line, raised her right hand, "Go," she said, "my servants, teach them a lesson."

The Blind Followers prostrating on the steps began to writhe unnaturally, and from beneath their robes spilled forth pitch-black tentacles as they screamed in terror at these appendages.

But clearly, their god left them little room for negotiation, the tentacles swiftly engulfed them, growing as they writhed, revealing Monsters' sharp claws and Fangs from between the tendrils.

Fang Hong roughly recognized them as resembling Blood Servants, but those creations the Blind Followers modified with Alchemy were like child's play in comparison. These sinister, fearsome Monsters emitted low, throbbing growls, advancing towards them step by step.

Fang Hong looked at the measured Level, his mindset was roughly the same, he inhaled sharply, turned back to look at Ye Hua and whispered, "God Ye, can you see their Level?"

"If we were outside, my advice to you now would be to lie down and wait for death," Ye Hua removed his Longbow, and replied quietly as well, "these are Divine Miscreations, Level 2 divinized. Outside, I could probably handle three by myself."

What is Level 2 divinized?

For the first time, Fang Hong deeply felt his own 'ignorance'; he roughly understood that the Second World's Level classification was completely different from the First World's system and clear about the five Level distinctions among top Invokers.

But he'd never heard of such a term as Level 2 divinized.

Yet he was too embarrassed to ask. In any case, he roughly understood Ye Hua's meaning—even if he didn't get it, it didn't matter, as long as he could equate three Monsters to one Ye Hua.

In short, faced with things like these, as a newcomer in their twenties, outside, he hardly even counted as cannon fodder, just the 'fodder' itself, without the 'cannon.'

"However, in this world," Ye Hua's tone shifted, gaze landing on him, "you're the main force here; three-quarters of it is up to you to handle."

"Alright," Fang Hong hurriedly nodded, but quickly realized something amiss, "Wait, Great God Ye Hua, I saw at least a hundred Blind Followers earlier; if they all transform into such Monsters, wouldn't it mean...!?"

"Over a hundred, you counted well."

"No."

"Why say no?" Ye Hua had already pushed him out, "Go protect Her Highness the Princess, do what a man should. You're a warrior, I'm an archer, you can't always expect me to take the lead, right?"

No, when did I become a warrior?

Fang Hong had a hundred question marks in his mind, but seeing Princess Rupert braving the biting wind and snow, already charging forward with her sword, he couldn't say anything more. He turned around, waving his remaining left hand, staggering as he followed along.

A gigantic foot strode with bold steps from behind, surpassing him with a thunderous step into the swirling snow ahead. Accompanied by the long blare of a whistle, the towering Construct threw a punch at the oncoming Monster.

Fang Hong bit down on his collar, thrust his left hand forcefully sideways, and Earth Shaker, venting white steam, landed a colossal punch on the Monster's chest, sending it flying into the snowdrift.

An oscillating ripple of air spread from Earth Shaker's fist, knocking down the Monsters around it. Judge Taan and Imperial Blade, wielding Great Swords, cut into the enemy formation from the left and right.
