Chapter 2006 - 9: Back on the Traveler of the Seven Seas (Part 3)

Moreover, the key thing is, it doesn't just have one. This large ship at this level has a total of five Magic Guided Engines. Even if three of them are damaged, they still recovered two Core Crystals.

Just moving this thing from the bottom of the ship to the deck, they had to open a big hole on the large ship to go straight to the upper deck.

Luckily it's an otherworld; with the Big Cat People plus Luo Hao and Miss Xiesta's strength, the three of them, along with a set of Strength Buffs, barely managed to pull them up from below.

In fact, the large ship also had wooden cranes, but they were so wobbly that one would suspect they might collapse at any moment, let alone bear any weight.

Then Bakins used a method for transporting logs to send the Core Crystals into the cave, but when passing through the narrowest part of the Arrow-Tailed Kite's nest, real trouble arose— the large ship's Core Crystals couldn't pass through at all.

They tried everything they could think of, but all ended in failure. In the end, they had no choice but to choose the most foolish method— digging out the cave.

And this was obviously not a task of one or two days, so the Seven Seas Traveler anchored nearby.

After all, no one wanted to give up on these two Core Crystals; selling them, even if slightly damaged, would still make the assets of the Seven Seas Travel Group double.

Not long after, on the other side, Elisa and Parker also sent good news— they discovered a water source.

A river flows into the Void Canyon from the north, forming a waterfall.

This news dispelled the last doubts everyone had.

With a clean water source, the Seven Seas Traveler could stay nearby for a long time.

...

The night was deep.

But there were still lights and voices coming from the deck.

Fang Hong lifted his goggles and rubbed his eyes.

The others should be systematically transporting the supplies from the large ship back to the Seven Seas Traveler, and it's about one or two days away from breaking through the cave.

During this period before the cave was breached, everyone kept busy by dismantling the large ship, removing the usable Dragon Bone ribs and the sturdiest ship materials, and also recovered some Magic Blackwood and precious metals.

In short, the Seven Seas Traveler didn't need any additional supplies for the moment, and they could even sell some of it.

Meanwhile, most of the materials recovered on the ship were stored in the lower hold, barely filling about half of it.

Regarding those Holy White Oaks, he also discussed with Miss Atira. Although the Elf Miss despised the pirates for cutting down the Holy Tree, she agreed to their use of this wood.

However, she flatly rejected Parker's suggestion of selling these woods.

Holy White Oak is the best material for magical ship figureheads, and due to its rarity on the market, it's indeed valuable.

But the Elf Miss's intention was clear, they could use it themselves, but couldn't sell it.

Fang Hong didn't mind. He didn't have much concept of money anymore — or perhaps he never did — except for those days when he was so poor that he saw stars.

He was just thinking, even though the Seven Seas Traveler already had a figurehead — a Magic Sea Dragon figurehead, said to have the strange ability to increase luck, but only heaven knew its specific effect.

Because it's so common, almost every merchant ship would have one, that saying about everyone being lucky on the Sky Sea probably stemmed from this.

Those famous legendary figureheads were out of his league, like the Twin Goddesses, Holy White Dragon, Wrath of the Sea God, but now with so much Holy White Oak in hand, making a figurehead with a B or B+ rating shouldn't be hard?

As for Parker, he felt a bit annoyed after his suggestion was rejected.

But Fang Hong suspected it was because this guy missed out on treasure hunting.

Although that treasure hunt did yield surprising results, even he didn't expect such a bounty.

They risked their lives in Istania to earn that money, thanks to Count Nulman not pursuing them afterwards, but it left them feeling guilty.

Unexpectedly, just two days after setting sail, their assets more than doubled out of nowhere, and picking up a sudden windfall felt really good.

Of course, Fang Hong also understood that such opportunities were rare and not to be sought after.

Golden opportunities in the Sky Sea were merely sailors' dreams.

Bakins and the others mounted a cannon found on the large ship onto the Seven Seas Traveler — right on that vacant cannon mount at the stern.

That Magic Guided Cannon was nearly a twenty-year-old relic, naturally incomparable to the new cannon promised by Colin, air-shipped from there.

But at least it's better than the Seven Seas Traveler running through the Sky Sea with just a crossbow cannon, right?

Remembering that new cannon, Fang Hong was filled with tears, and he blamed it on that Prime Minister.

Miss Atira completed that Constant Temperature Magic Array in the past few days, temporarily rearing the three Arrow-Tailed Kite chicks there.

This drew Tianlan, Ai Xiaoxiao, and Gita, the three little girls, to run to the greenhouse every day to see them.

Especially Miss Natural Historian, looking at these furry little things, her heart was melting.

Under Tianlan's lead, the three of them divided the Arrow-Tailed Kite chicks amongst each other, without needing their Captain's opinion at all.

Only Ai Xiaoxiao slightly feigned modesty, "Should we ask Cousin Ade's opinion?"

"You go ahead, Ai Xiaoxiao," said Tianlan.

Ai Xiaoxiao promptly decided, "I've already asked the Captain's opinion about mine."

So it was as if everyone had asked, at least that's how Tianlan felt.

However, these chicks were still in the taming period, very shy. Although divided, they couldn't be taken away for the time being.

Miss Atira set up a shed on the bow of the ship, planning to use the already-marked out breeding area once these Arrow-Tailed Kites grew up a bit.

As for these matters, Fang Hong naturally didn't participate.

First, after returning from the large ship, he was so tired that he fell asleep the moment he got back to the Seven Seas Traveler, sleeping for an entire day.

Second, he had his own tasks to busy himself with.

First was his current work, completing the Type-One Crystal's γ state. With the materials sent from Kalatu, this work was already nearing completion.

Now, he just needed to finish his next Magic Guided Reactor, which didn't involve much more work.

The other task was to continue studying those Constructs and the Alchemy Formula.

However, there was almost no progress on the former, as he had Miss Tata and Nini each try to control the Construct, but neither succeeded.

Miss Tata encountered about the same result as him, no response at all.

And Nini was directly flung off the Construct, almost dazing her.

Once she regained her senses, the little girl cried into his chest for quite a while, drawing half the ship's crew to come and see what was happening.

They almost thought their Captain was abusing child labor.

Finally, Elisa furiously took the crying Nini away, throwing him a couple of glares.

This left Fang Hong feeling speechless.

However, he did make some progress in studying the Alchemy Formula.

...
