Chapter 2010 - 11: Standard Docking Procedure
"No, no, more to the left, oh, now too much, go back a bit!"
The sound coming through the sound transmission tube was Tianlan shouting loudly.
Fang Hong frowned as he listened, then took his hand off the console and turned back to continue speaking with Miss Tata:
"So, Miss Tata?"
"Indeed, it's the Heart of Fairy," came the quiet answer in his mind. But perhaps worried about hurting him, the voice paused, then said hesitantly, "But as a Dragon Knight, it's still somewhat rudimentary, you understand what I mean, Mr. Knight—"
Fang Hong was both amused and helpless, "You don't need to worry about my thoughts, Miss Tata, of course, I understand, the Seven Seas Traveler is by no means a real Fairy Dragon Knight yet, it's merely a carrier for the Heart of Fairy at best..."
He spoke with a confident tone, "But even though it's rudimentary now, I promise, one day it will become a real Dragon Knight, this is merely an experiment for now."
"I believe you can do it, Mr. Knight."
Miss Tata replied quietly.
"Alright, let's not talk about this now," Fang Hong seemed a bit excited, he wasn't having Miss Tata test the Heart of Fairy for commercial bragging sake.
In fact, ever since the Seven Seas Traveler was fully examined until today, he had been busy with other matters, finally seizing the opportunity.
Today, they could finally test what this unique airship could achieve in its complete state.
He pulled down the wind goggles, first glancing outside before saying, "Miss Tata, let's first see if we can control the ship?"
Miss Fairy nodded.
...
On the outer deck, the Seven Seas Traveler was slowly docking at the port.
Orlenze, located at the southern part of Nogness, is a major port and also the southernmost point of Colin Ishurian.
The materials Fang Hong had previously mentioned with Hilveld for modifying the closed-loop device, in fact, there was only hope of purchasing them here within the Nogness region—
It's essentially the Earth Origin Crystal, a rare Ether Crystal produced in the Sky Sea.
They are only produced in a few mining areas in Nogness, most of which are consumed by local craftsmen, and the rest mostly gather in this city.
And this city is known not only for this.
About thirteen years ago, in the airspace southwest of Orlenze, people accidentally discovered a previously unrecorded Sky Island.
And around the ownership of this island, a two and a half year war broke out between the Colin People and the Osh People (though the core battles lasted less than eight months), historically known as the Battle of Bain.
The war was actually named after the Bain Plains not far north of today's Orlenze.
Though the past war concluded with both sides shaking hands and making peace.
But this war itself forever etched the city's name in people's memory.
As the city that witnessed the beginning and end of this war, Orlenze was temporarily occupied by the Empire during the war, used as a foothold for invading Nogness.
And the traces of the war ten years ago are still clearly visible today in this city.
The name Orlenze originated from the Lizardman language meaning "Great Tree," and the city's wonder is the airport built upon a towering tree.
That is White Tree Tarn.
The first generation of Orlenze people came to this corner of the dense forest, and when they discovered this giant tree on the cape, they treasured it and established an airport using Tarn's natural height.
Then this port became the hallmark of this location over hundreds of years.
The charred scar on the right side of White Tree Tarn's canopy comes from an Imperial airship attack, locally known as Osiris Trace.
And it was named after the Osh people's captain at the time.
However, today, the flames of war are no more, and Tarn still flourishes proudly here.
The piers of the giant tree are those branches extending into the floating clouds, and hidden within the vast and lush canopy are the docks of the Orlenze people, the Port Authority, and the turrets guarding the airport.
There is also a lighthouse.
Tianlan was yelling loudly about how to navigate the Seven Seas Traveler to avoid the huge swaying branches and steer into the channel within the tree canopy.
When sailing above the Sky Sea, the clumsiness is less noticeable, but in such a bustling waterway, their limited skills were barely adequate.
The Big Cat People and Parker, along with Luo Hao, were doing their best to manage the sail, fully concentrated, yet it couldn't hide the amateur essence of everyone — the Seven Seas Traveler was wobbling like a drunkard.
Eventually, even the Orlenze people couldn't stand it, sending a pilot boat from the port and signaling them from afar with flags to ask if they were having trouble and needed help.
But just before the pilot boat could come alongside, an unexpected incident occurred.
A three-masted ship abruptly cut across, inserting itself between the Seven Seas Traveler and the airship ahead.
Because the event happened so suddenly, almost no one noticed the sudden maneuver of the large ship from behind, and by the time it was discovered, it was already too late.
In such a situation, even a veteran might not have time to react, let alone them—a bunch of rookies.
"We're going to crash!" Tianlan screamed in horror, almost jumping out of the ship.
The Papalarians were momentarily at a loss, nervously pulling on the ropes with all their might.
