Chapter 2020 - 14: Local Guild Affairs

About a quarter of an hour later, Fang Hong figured out what had happened.

Shortly after his call with Elisa, the guild selling Earth Origin Crystal sent a message, sounding apologetic, but they still terminated the deal with them.

The Big Cat People watched him put down the Communication Crystal and asked: "So—because the Descendants of Flor interfered, the other party doesn't want to make a deal with us?"

Fang Hong nodded, still sounding a bit surprised. "That's about it. It seems they've figured out what we're up to and contacted the guild folks."

"...Plus, Elisa went a way with the Descendants of Flor and happened to see them meet with the guild people."

He glanced at the Communication Crystal beside him, "Anyway, they also sent a message, canceling the deal with us. At the Adventurers' Guild, they only showed an intention when they saw our posted task, so there wasn't any breach of contract."

"Besides, given our current situation," the Big Cat People interjected, "even if there was a breach, there's no way we could arbitrate through the Adventurers' Guild, right?"

Fang Hong picked up a teacup, sipped some water, and nodded silently.

Although there was bad blood with the Descendants of Flor, the situation was still quite infuriating.

He wasn't expecting those people to reflect, but he didn't think they would escalate due to a minor conflict.

If they really took their ship to Sky Sea to find trouble, he'd respect them for being forthright.

But not by playing these petty tricks—

According to Elisa, they probably just wanted to give them a little lesson.

This was likely because the Descendants of Flor had urgent matters and couldn't spare the time.

Fang Hong almost laughed with anger; if they had time, who knows what they'd do? Come trouble them directly? He wouldn't be afraid.

"They've gone too far," Ai Xiaoxiao was also furious, and said incredulously, "It was clearly their fault at the port."

Tianlan snorted twice, with an air of nonchalance, "Don't be surprised, Xiaoxiao, those people are just like that."

"But what can we do?" Ai Xiaoxiao frowned deeply.

"What else can we do?" Tianlan sprawled onto the sofa, lamenting, "If they won't do business, we can't force them. I suggest we count this on the Descendants of Flor; they give us trouble, we'll give them trouble."

Saying so, the room was filled with a somber atmosphere.

Although it's not a big deal, being wronged without cause is still uncomfortable.

The Big Cat People wiped their paws, while Miss Atira remained composed.

Bakins checked the situation below every few minutes.

Xiesta tilted her head, standing behind Hilveld, gazing at the ceiling in a daze.

Finally, Fang Hong sighed, "Forget it, just count it as a wasted trip."

Tianlan was right, they couldn't force any purchases.

Fortunately, Earth Origin Crystal isn't exclusive to Orlenze; the market here is just larger.

But just then, Tang Xin and Hilveld, who had been silent, suddenly spoke:

"Actually, there's a way."

Then both looked at each other.

"Miss Hilveld, please go first," Tang Xin pursed her lips, speaking sourly.

"You go first, Tangtang," Fang Hong interrupted, hearing the dissatisfaction in his cousin's tone. Though he didn't know why Tangtang always clashed with Hilveld, he knew Miss Ship's Officer wouldn't mind.

He turned back, sure enough, seeing Hilveld smile at him.

"What is the way?" Fang Hong asked.

Tang Xin looked at this couple with a cold tone, "Do the Descendants of Flor have any connection with that guild?"

Fang Hong felt that Crybaby's gaze would soon lash at him, though he couldn't figure out where he'd offended her.

"This, seems they don't."

"Exactly, then what reason did the Descendants of Flor have to make the other party terminate the deal with us?"

Fang Hong's mind sparked, silently placing the teacup down, as if he had realized something.

Right, why did the Descendants of Flor lead the other party to cancel the deal?

There's no hierarchical relation; while the Descendants of Flor are a top guild alliance domestically, their influence hasn't crossed the Southern Region yet.

As for the Colin Royal Family, it only affects Orlenze Port; the Invokers don't cater to the Natives.

After all, the task they posted was a major transaction for Earth Origin Crystal; typically, a guild wouldn't simply ignore it.

Seeing Fang Hong look befuddled, Tang Xin felt slightly pleased.

In some ways, this sibling pair is made out of the same mold.

She thought, Pigeon Fang, look at your clueless state, needing my reminder after all.

"Cousin, instead of fretting, why not directly ask Miss Elisa what's going on?"

"Oh, right," Fang Hong suddenly realized, nearly forgetting.

Activating the Communication Crystal, Elisa's voice quickly came through:

"Captain, anything else?"

Fang Hong recounted the situation, and Elisa's voice sounded a bit enlightened, "Regarding this, it's simple. The Descendants of Flor offered a higher price than ours, likely much higher, or else the other party wouldn't change their mind so soon."
