Chapter 205: You Are Not Fit To Be A Leader
A king should look at a rebel’s head only when it is cut off.
But this time, the rebel cut off the King’s head.
Before the leader could do the thing he was about to, Zane had already taken out his weapon.
He knew if the leader’s attack fell on him he would die on the spot.
Therefore, in the crux of everything, it was either Zane or the leader.
Zane’s mind had stopped working as he swung his Last Toll on the leader’s neck.
And since Zane sliced with the blade side of the weapon, he received no resistance and the result turned out to be...
THUD!
The rolling head of the leader.
Zane killed one of the Simmers.
And just like the description of the weapon had said, every time there was a kill...
TUNG!
The bell would ring.
After the swing, Zane’s hands went numb.
The Last Toll slipped from his hand.

Windows came in front of Zane but the gutterborn slumped on the wall.
He stared at the severed head and the severed head stared back.
Its mouth was still open along with his eyes and the headless body still stood. As if it didn’t know that the head wasn’t there anymore.
However, the leader wasn’t alone with him.
He had also brought two people and their eyes trembled.
"You filthy bastard!"
The two men spread their arms but like the leader, Zane wasn’t alone as well.
"This is the only thing today I have no complaints with."
Hena took out her sleek black sword from her ring and before the two men could do something, she pierced the sword in their ears.
She pierced four ears at once.
Blood splattered on her face but she only smiled.
She killed two men with one push of her sword.
The spread hands of those men slumped and Hena swung her sword, cutting the top part of their heads.
Only their mouths remained on their faces. The part above their mouths, that fell near Zane’s feet as well.
The leader’s head and the partial heads of his two men both lay side by side as Zane watched them with no expressions.
The smell of blood invaded his nose as his face felt the warmth of blood that he had taken from the leader.
Hena clicked her tongue and closed the door.
Darkness covered them again and Hena sat on the floor.
Silence reigned in the doorway as no one uttered a word.
But the sound of footsteps rang and by their sound, Hena recognized it was Jammy.
The Janitor walked towards Zane, by his guess and by feeling the surroundings, he sat beside the young man.
"Kid." He said.
Zane didn’t reply.
"Where is my lighter?" Jammy asked.
Zane turned to him.
The darkness saved Jammy from seeing the anger on Zane’s face.
The gutterborn was undergoing some extreme emotions and the janitor asked for his lighter.
Zane gave no answer and Jammy felt the surroundings with his legs once more.
He did that mostly around Zane as the lighter might have fallen down if Zane hadn’t stored it inside his ring.
Fortunately, Zane hadn’t done that.
Jammy found the lighter beside Zane as it had fallen from the pocket of his shining black robe.
Upon finding it, the janitor wasted no time and clicked it open.
The surroundings lit up to some extent and Jammy focused it on Zane’s face.
Everyone else also saw it and they weren’t sure what to think after seeing the face of their leader.
He was silent.
He stared at the severed head with nothing in his eyes.
"First kill?" Jammy asked.
Zane slightly nodded.
Jammy sighed. "I am amazed you haven’t killed anyone till now even after suffering so much. You have a great heart, kid."
"Should I feel happy about it?" Zane asked. "I don’t know how I should feel? The only person I wanted to kill was Kairon. But my hand moved on its own. As if I wanted to kill this man. Killing him was the only way. He would have killed me."
Zane hugged his knees and Jammy placed his hand around Zane’s shoulder.
"First of all, people die in the end anyway. He would have died too. Second, you are right. If you hadn’t done this, he would have killed you. You saved yourself. That’s why you have brought the weapon in the first place. And most of all..."
Jammy’s eyes turned serious.
"Were you seriously expecting that you would win this rebellion without killing anyone in the process?"
Zane twitched.
"Only the ones who deserved it. I would have killed them."
"Who are you to decide who deserves to live or die? You are no one. You killed this man, accept it and move on. Don’t let your conscience turn you into a villain."
"This man here is the third son of the Simmers family." Hena chimed.
Jammy showed light to her.
Her eyes were on Zane.
"His name is Iklaam Simmner. I don’t know his Skills or power but the Simmer family has been involved in dealing with slaves. They buy many of them, they use them and they sell many as well. Ask me, the slaves would call you their hero for this. They would have one less tormentor to worry about now.
The ones I killed are also likely to be the slaves of this man. I would have refrain from killing them but they were about to launch some kind of self destructive attack that would have hurt us too."
Zane’s gaze softened.
His eyes now looked at the severed head differently.
"Also," Jammy spoke. "If you keep acting like this after each kill or whether who deserves to die or not, then I am afraid..."
The janitor removed his hand from Zane’s shoulder and with eyes that held no joke, he concluded:
"You are not fit to be a Leader. Especially mine."
