Chapter 1515: Which one of you?
"Ah, that was satisfying."
It wasn’t just Lin Fan alone that thought this at the end of the training, everyone seemed to have enjoyed teaching the dolls all those different dances.
In the end, music and dance was something that was universally enjoyed regardless of what world this was.
Once it was done, there was a matter of settling the inheritance.
"I don’t know which one of you to give it to."
The elder was honest with them as she said this.
Halfway through the training, the elder had revealed herself to them since it had reached a point where it didn’t matter if she hid herself or not. At the same time, she was actually interested in dancing along with the dolls, which was why she had shown herself.
This elder was another beautiful woman, but it was different from the elder of the poison pavilion. This elder was beautiful, but she possessed a beauty that was acquired with age.
She was one of those beauties that clearly had a lot of experience, one that was refined with age. This was the kind of beauty that she could only obtain after spending her life refining it.
Considering that she was the elder of a pavilion that was dedicated to performing arts like this, it only made sense that this beauty was refined through everything that she did.
When she danced, she really was the center of attention.
But right now, it wasn’t as if anyone had any attention to give to her.
The three of them looked at each other as if they couldn’t understand what was happening. It didn’t seem like the elder’s words made any sense to them, but they also felt that there was this sense of disconnect between themselves as well.
It was as if there was something that just couldn’t agree on between them.
The elder suddenly asked, "Who do you think is the one that deserves to receive the inheritance?"
At this, the three of them all pointed at someone different.
Lin Fan had pointed at Ye Qing Huan, Ye Qing Huan had pointed at Xiao Mu, and Xiao Mu had pointed at Lin Fan.
Seeing that they were all pointing at each other, they couldn’t help knitting their brows.
At the same time, the elder just shook her head with a faint smile before saying, "See what I mean?"
Lin Fan was the one that took the lead by saying, "She’s the one that passed the trials, so shouldn’t it be her that receives the inheritance?"
At this, Ye Qing Huan said, "No, Xiao Mu is the one that made everything possible by fixing the dolls."
"In the first place, none of this would have been possible without the sheet music and dance routine he provided." Xiao Mu said in a firm voice.
It seemed like none of them were willing to back down and they were filled with praise for each other. After a certain point, it felt a bit awkward just praising each other like this.
It was only then that the elder said with a smile, "See, even you can’t decide who should be the one that accepts the inheritance."
The three of them didn’t say anything as they had nothing that they could say in response.
But in the end, Xiao Mu was the one that broke the silence.
"I can’t take this inheritance in the first place, so it would be between the two of you."
As it said this, Xiao Mu looked at the elder with a meaningful look.
The elder didn’t say anything at first, but then she slowly gave a nod as if she was confirming this.
This was something that they should have already known since this was something that had already happened before.
In the first place, it wasn’t as if Xiao Mu should be eligible to accept the inheritance since Xiao Mu’s origin was from the Dao Sect. Using the knowledge of the Dao Sect to pass the trials of the Dao Sect, it seemed a bit redundant.
The only reason that Xiao Mu had even been able to accept the poison pavilion was all because of that elder’s decision. If it wasn’t for the elder arbitrarily deciding that she would be handing over the position to Xiao Mu, then it really wouldn’t have gone to Xiao Mu.
Neither Lin Fan or Ye Qing Huan said anything in the end since what the elder said was correct.
But it didn’t seem like either of them were willing to take this inheritance still.
Since Ye Qing Huan’s recommendation disappeared, she immediately changed her recommendation to Lin Fan.
Ye Qing Huan used the same logic as Xiao Mu, she was praising Lin Fan for his ability to bring out all of these music sheets and dance routines.
The way that she was saying it, it was as if she was making herself seem like a tool in Lin Fan’s hands. If it wasn’t for Lin Fan providing all of this, she never would have been able to catch the elder’s eyes.
A bitter smile appeared on Lin Fan’s face as she said all of this.
With the way that the elder’s expression changed while Ye Qing Huan said this, it really seemed like she was about to accept Ye Qing Huan’s suggestion.
He had to admit that Ye Qing Huan’s words were very convincing and if he hadn’t already made up his mind, he would have been convinced by her words as well.
At this rate, it really seemed like he would be forced to take this pavilion. Only this was the last thing that he wanted to take since this place really didn’t suit him at all.
In that case, there was only one last argument that could be made. Though this argument was one that would hurt his pride since he would have to bring up something that he didn’t want to bring up.
With a deep breath to stabilize himself, Lin Fan said, "What about my singing just now?"
The moment that he said this, Ye Qing Huan immediately fell silent.
Seeing the way that she just couldn’t refute these words, it really felt like there were daggers stabbing into his heart. Then adding in the fact that they were looking at him as if they were sympathizing with him...
Lin Fan really felt like digging a hole to hide himself at this point, but he didn’t react as he waited to see what they would say.
Though judging by the way that they looked at him, it was already clear what they were all thinking.
In the end, the elder said with a sigh, "I think he’s right."
Ye Qing Huan and Xiao Mu nodded in agreement after hearing the elder say this.
When none of them were on his side, it felt like Lin Fan’s heart was being stabbed once more by these words.
In truth, he didn’t really think that his singing was that bad. It was just that the way that they acted, it really felt like they thought of his singing like some kind of death chant.
Then all of a sudden, the elder added, "I didn’t get to see his dancing earlier, but I could tell from the way that he moved to demonstrate that he really can’t dance at all."
There really wasn’t a need for the elder to say this, but it hurt even more when Ye Qing Huan and Xiao Mu nodded in agreement. At this point, it just felt like they were trying to hurt Lin Fan with everything that they said.
But it didn’t seem like the elder or the other two were going to kick him while he was down any further than this.
It seemed like the elder had made up her mind and even Ye Qing Huan looked like she accepted the elder’s decision. All of this was brought by Lin Fan’s sacrifice.
The item that represented the elder’s inheritance was actually a scarf.
It was the kind of scarf that was used for dancing, so it was quite the beautiful object. However, the important thing about this scarf was the aura that it gave off.
This was different from all of the other tokens that had been passed down.
Those other things were nothing more than tokens that didn’t really have any power, but this one was a proper relic with how much energy it seemed to have. Other than using it to control this pavilion, there were other things that Ye Qing Huan could have used it for.
Though to use it properly, she would have had to test it first to see what it was capable of.
After receiving the scarf, Ye Qing Huan just gave a simple nod before holding it in her hand as if she was focusing on something.
When she opened her eyes again, she was already moving.
It seemed like she was leading them to a certain place in mind with how confident she moved.
This was the same as when Xiao Mu received the inheritance for the poison pavilion.
In that case, she should be taking them to the warehouse of this place.
After walking for a bit, they finally arrived at their destination. Only this place seemed different from what one might have imagined.
Instead of it being a warehouse, it was better to say that this was a dressing room for the performers to change in.
Considering what this pavilion was, it only made sense that things important to this place would be stored in this kind of room.
