Beneath the Red Dragon

Chapter 600 - 66: War Between Dragons and Demons

The cold wind howled, and the sun that had just risen on the horizon seemed to be obscured by slowly moving dark clouds, gradually dimming. However, unlike silent and formless clouds, these clouds spreading across the sky were the boundless Low Tier Demon army.

The flapping of wings resounded chaotically within the dark clouds advancing across the sky, initially akin to the sound of bats flying inside a cave at night.

As the clouds approached, the momentum grew larger, resembling a chaotic tide rolling in from the lakes and seas, accumulating and cleansing power, gradually growing from small to large, rolling from the sky above.

The dense miasma and mist in the air were swept away by the wind generated by the demons’ wings, revealing the ground below, equally crowded, like waves surging forward.

The remaining brilliance of the sun on the horizon was gradually swallowed completely by the grotesque faces of the demons.

These demons originated from the Bottomless Abyss, born under the influence of the Chaos Power of the Bottomless Abyss, and no one can say for sure how many species there are.

Whether they are powerful Legendary Mages, Divine Spirits of the Star Realm, or even the powerful Demon Lords of the Abyss, none can know half of the demon species in existence.

Flying demons with goat heads and bat wings, land-walking demons with minotaur bodies, humanoid demons, as well as demons resembling primitive beasts, insects, spider-like creatures, and cephalopods.

These demons carry the primordial racial memories of disgust and fear from the creation of races in the Bottomless Abyss, instilling fear and panic among the mortal world creatures.

There are also demons with no complete racial features, bodies twisted and deformed. Their ugly, distorted faces resemble squids flattened in the deep sea, never to recover, with spines and tentacles growing wildly without order.

Parts of their bodies are almost metallic and mechanical, with semi-organic armor layers growing beneath their flesh.

Perhaps these demons can draw their origin power from human fears and evil, making them the most feared enemy of all creation.

Because the vast majority of Mid and Low Tier Demons are influenced by chaotic will, spreading chaos and destruction throughout the Multi-Cosmos, aiming to return all worlds to chaos.

The walls, built like irregularly stacked mountains, and the entire city have long sounded the deep horns echoing through every corner.

Yet, the city’s citizens did not hide; every one of them, from the elderly to women and children, picked up improvised weapons of stone and wood, forged from iron-cast warriors’ weapons, and stepped out, gathering in designated areas below the walls.

Sakaro and the organized armed forces of the sect had already assembled, standing at the front line, maintaining order.

Although the weapons wielded by the sect’s armed forces were also mostly broken and incomplete blades, they were the final reserve forces, as all the able fighters were already stationed on the walls.

Rested and ready Demon Dragons clung to the尖-topped towers, whether with silver scales and green eyes, black armor and fierce horns, or golden wings and red tails, opening their vertical pupils and unfurling their giant wing membranes to roar towards the sky, intimidating and terrifying.

The House Targaryen, Orion Clan, and Belerys Clan, as the first Dragon King Clans to pledge loyalty to the Imperial, were incorporated into the Imperial Legions, becoming senior officers of the Demon Dragon Corps, already leading all knights qualified to ride Demon Dragons waiting in the Legion’s established bases.

When the Flying Dragon Battle Commander, Countess Batorri, stepped out of the camp door, all Flying Dragon Riders were already assembled in silence, and the fierce Flying Dragon Leader Xun Ying swooped down from the sky, landing beside this fierce female commander.

Batorri’s beautiful face, hardened in the flames of war like other warriors, bore a deep scar, running from her mouth to her ear, never fading.

Yet, this did not detract from the allure of the female knight, giving her a distinct androgynous beauty.

Cang Lang,

Batorri raised her head, short hair glinting in the emerging sunlight, and with her unsheathed longsword vertical against her forehead, shouted loudly: "In the name of the Imperial, by the will of the Emperor, in every battle, we must exert our full strength!"

"With all our strength!" the Flying Dragon Riders responded in unison, leaning their long Dragon Spears with their left hands, and drawing their longswords with their right hands.

"Our Treasures Swords, Long Spears, and Bows and Arrows, heed the call of the Imperial,"

"In the name of bronze and steel, ice and fire!" the Demon Dragon Knights rasped, drawing their longswords.

The whomp,

One by one, the Flying Dragons with their ornate scales and tendrils bore their partners for life and death skyward, forming ranks over the city.

The long Dragon Spear held by Batorri bore not a red tassel, but a coiled banner, resembling the Royal Banner of a Giant Dragon, fluttering fiercely in the air.

Subsequently, the Demon Dragon Knights mounted their Demon Dragons beneath the high tower, rising into the air, following Batorri’s Dragon Spear.

The enormous Flying Dragons and Demon Dragons gradually formed ranks under Batorri and the commanders’ orders, casting shadows over the sky.
