Chapter 171: Teach You How To Kiss

Serena went still at those words, confusion filling her as she processed what she just heard. The rabbit beastwoman’s words were the last thing she was expecting to hear. What in the world did she mean by that?!

Her intentions? Serena hoped that wasn’t what she thought it was... Because that was bound to make things awkward. Their relationship was purely a professional one.

Why did this random beastwoman have to make it strange now? Was she interested in Finn or something? If so, then she supposed it wouldn’t hurt to clear a simple misunderstanding.

"I’m not sure what you mean by intentions..." Serena started. "But Finn and I-"

"Macy." Finn suddenly called out, appearing by Serena’s side. "Why are you here?"

Serena frowned at the name. She had definitely heard that name somewhere. There was something important about the name. Then it clicked.

Wilma had told her about a rabbit beastwoman named Macy. Similar age as them and into stealing males that others liked because she enjoyed the chase or something like that.

Even tried her luck with James, Fay’s mate, at one point, but it didn’t work out well. Serena recalled that Wilma warned her about Macy approaching her and keeping males she liked on the down low.

Does that mean she misunderstood why Finn comes over and... Serena thought to herself.

She guessed it was easy to misunderstand considering it was rare for a single beastman to go to a beastwoman’s hut often unless there was a reason for it. Which most of the time was for courting reasons.

It made Serena want to sigh. She sometimes forgot how different certain customs were in this world. She would definitely need to look into creating some kind of general workshop to stop such misunderstandings.

"I’m here to see you of course." Macy stated with a bright smile. She then narrowed her eyes at Serena and added, "And find out what this predator wants with you?"

Serena pursed her lips at the words. She knew she was meant to feel offended by the words... But honestly, she didn’t have the energy for such stupid drama.

"I’m just having Finn help me with some crafts. Since he’s the village craftsman..." Serena answered. "So if you need nothing from me, then I’ll be off."

Macy gaped at Serena’s words, not expecting her to be so dismissive. She had heard all about predator type beastwomen being arrogant and unwilling to let another near a male they liked.

She was expecting a fight, the reason for her being here. Macy wasn’t really interested in Finn, but if he actually caught someone else’s eye, then that meant he was useful in some way.

And Macy only took useful males as her mates. Besides, the whole chase of turning the male over to her side was exciting. Especially when she saw the other beastwoman’s look of heartbreak.

Because it meant she was the better female. More worthy of affection and care.

However, since Fay, she hadn’t felt that feeling. In fact it was the opposite and to such a beastwoman as well. Anger boiled within her at the mere thought.

It was why she decided to go after Serena. Show here that no rabbit beastman was willing to choose her over a rabbit beastwoman. But now even that was all up in smoke.

Serena wasn’t interested in Finn nor was she interested in dealing with her. It was annoying!

"Hmph!" Macy turned away and stalked off without another word.

If Serena wasn’t interested, then she wasn’t going to stick around. The other four watched as she left with her mates, all wondering what they just witnessed.

At least she didn’t drag things out... Serena thought to herself.

"I’m confused..." Kiro murmured, hugging Serena’s leg. "That beastwoman is strange."

"You’re right." Serena mused, ruffling his hair. "Best you stay away from her... Same goes for you two."

She eyed Finn and Theo as she said that last bit. She knew it was unlikely that Macy would go after Theo, but the thought of Theo being alone with that rabbit beastwoman ticked Serena off.

Seemed every village had their bad apples.

As for Finn, she figured he didn’t want to get involved. Of course, if he really was interested in Macy, then who was she to stop a grown beastman. He had the right to make his own choices.

But that wasn’t going to stop her from giving him a well-meaning warning.

"Anyway... We should get dinner made, Theo." Serena added. "Have fun finishing up with the clay, Finn."

And with that, Serena headed back to the hut with Kiro following closely behind her. Theo glanced over at Finn for a moment before he too left. Once they were gone, Finn got back to making his pot.

But for once he couldn’t completely focus on making something.

After Kiro went to bed, Serena and Theo stayed out and enjoyed the night air. It was a little warmer tonight, so Serena decided to enjoy the rare chance to be out in the evening.

Her mind lingered on the strange encounter this afternoon, a little confused by Macy’s actions. The rabbit beastwoman wasn’t lacking in any aspect. Well, save for personality.

But by beastmen standards, she was quite pretty. It would be easy for her to attract mates which made her actions quite strange. Then again, the ease of attracting mates was the very reason for her actions.

She wanted to attract those that would normally not be interested in her. The thrill of the chase or something like that anyway. Definitely not a healthy thing, but Serena wasn’t exactly one to talk.

She had done a lot of questionable things too.

Serena turned her gaze to Theo, who was quietly sitting next to her. His blue eyes shifted over to her almost instantly, locking them in an intense staring contest.

"Don’t let that beastwoman get near you. It’ll be bad if she discovers the truth." Serena suddenly said before she could process what she was even saying.

Theo raised an eyebrow at her words and simply replied, "I’m not a fan of rabbits."

"And yet you live in a village full of them..." Serena shook her head, breaking their staring contest. She turned her gaze to the sky instead and added, "Seriously though, that beastwoman is bad news. Wilma told me all about her."

"Mhmm..." Theo shifted closely until they were almost touching. He then whispered into her ear. "Don’t worry. I only have eyes for you."

"I’m not worried about that..." Serena turned to gaze at the tiger beastman, body going a little tense at how close Theo was. "But... I don’t want her to find out about you being a single beastman. She will mess with your feelings."

For some reason the words felt strange to say. She was so used to Theo being seen as her mate that the line was beginning to blur. But until they actually mated, Theo was fair game.

He could choose another if he wanted and that thought left a bad taste in her mouth. It was wrong to see Theo with another. And she knew what that meant...

"Then help me not be a single beastman." Theo suddenly said, the back of his neck feeling quite hot.

Serena eyed him for a second, knowing he was teasing. However, she wanted to turn it on him. "Fine. Close your eyes then."

Theo blinked at her words, mind short-circuiting. He had meant that as a joke to ease Serena’s worries. He didn’t expect to respond like that?! Did that mean...

"We’re not going all the way... I’m not ready for that." Serena added, noticing the questions in his eyes. "Now close your eyes before I change my mind."

Theo didn’t waste any time and closed his eyes as Serena told him to. He wasn’t sure what was going to happen, but this was a rare chance to get closer with Serena.

And she was taking the initiative to make the first move. He couldn’t mess up.

With his eyes closed, his other senses were on high alert and he felt Serena move closer to him. His body went rigid, wondering what was going to happen. Then a second later, he felt something soft press against his lips.

His eyes instantly snapped open and found Serena pressing her lips against his. Her eyes shifted up, glancing up at him before pulling away.

"Too fast...?" Serena asked, cheeks flustered.

"No..." Theo said, almost dazed.

Serena raised an eyebrow. "Never been kissed before?"

"Never." Theo answered. "That was my first."

Right... Serena wanted to smack herself. Beastmen only get intimate with one beastwoman their whole lives...

Which meant she was going to probably have to make the first move and teach Theo everything. Thankfully, she had enough knowledge for that... Otherwise, it would’ve been a nightmare.

"Then I guess we’ll make it a good one." Serena finally said. "I just hope you’re a fast learner."

"Only if my teacher’s good and lets me practice." Theo smirked. "I need lots of practice."

Serena shook her head with a smile at those words. "Then let me teach you how to kiss."

And with that, she put her lips back onto Theo’s lips.
