Adventures of the last Wild Dragon

Chapter 331: A Grand Entrance to the War

Up in the sky above Syan, Rhyana watched as a straight line of the massive redwood trees was seemingly battered away like blades of grass.

It was a slightly terrifying sight and she momentarily wondered if it was Violet that was causing such a mess on her approach.

Then however, she felt a oppressive domain burst out from the forest in that direction. It was all encompassing, violent and felt like she was being sucked into a swamp whilst being bitten by a hundred hungry maws all at the same time.

That feeling seemed to engulf the entire battlefield all at once.

With that oppressive feeling a roar once more rang out, this one the same familiar tenor as Violet’s, only much more powerful than the last time Rhyana had heard it.

Then she emerged from the trees, followed a moment later by a true giant of a beast that sent shivers of primal fear down Rhyana’s spine.

All around the city battles came to a sudden stop in a similar occurrence as when the sovereigns first unveiled their domains. Only this time the domain being unfurled was unlike anything an enlightened could cause.

No this was created by a beast, a true Beast Sovereign and it was powerful, terrifyingly powerful.

Even the other sovereigns halted their battles, every head turned in a single direction, each of them wondering what kind of horror had chosen now of all times to make itself known.

Above one section of the battlefield the King and the Bloody Sword Saint also halted their own battles, each of them showing a vastly different expression.

The Sword Saint showed an expression of genuine interest, even a touch of glee at the powerful domain of the beast approaching them.

The King however, he held an expression of utter horror. For he know that domain, he knew of the beast that produced it and of its terrifying might.

As such he was quite surprised to hear a roar that did not match his memories and even more surprised when he saw a form burst from the trees in the distance.

He watched in surprise that swiftly switched to awe and tentative hope when he witnessed an onyx and purple dragon emerge from the trees, her sleek and powerful body radiating a presence that spoke of the Wilds.

It was domineering in a way that only a being blessed by the wilds could be, it was chaotic and jubilant, free in a way that few could ever truly be.

It resonated with the King on a near fundamental level. He was a person that was intimately familiar with the wilds, he had lived in them his entire long life, he understood its benevolence and its fury.

So when that dragon was so clearly weaker than him, he found himself subconsciously bowing in her direction.

He was not alone in doing so.

All across the battlefield heads lowered in her direction, interestingly whilst nearly every one from Syan did so, quite a few humans of Eldor also instsinctivly lowered their heads in deference towards the dragon in the sky.

The effect amongst the Kingdoms dragons however, was something else entirely.

It was as if they had been slapped in the face. All of their fight left them in an instant, they simply flew their in stunned amazement, even when their riders tried to get them to move the dragons simply refused their masters order for the first time in their lives.

Yet whilst the king was delighted at the appearance of the wild dragon his son had spoken off, it was the figure that emerged a few seconds later that truly captured his attention.

It emerged in a showed of tree splinters as it smashed aside two giant trees seemingly without effort.

Its body was massive on a scale that was quite hard to understand.

It had a lower body that somewhat resembled a dragons, it was relatively stout yet packed with muscles that rippled under its muddy green scales. A long and powerful tail extended at its back whilst 4 powerful legs held the beast aloft.

Each leg was tipped with claws that were longer than the king was tall.

From tail to the top of its torso the beast stood around 80 meters in length. Yet it was its heads that truly caught the eye.

For this beast did not have a single head, not two or three. No, this beast had dozens upon dozens of heads, each one held aloft by a long and powerful neck.

The beast before them was a Hydra, a Swamp Hydra to be exact. And it was no simple Hydra, for this was a beast that had lived in the region for hundreds of years. This beast was already a sovereign by the time the king was a young man, it was ancient, powerful and quite possibly the single most dangerous individuals in the entire region from what the King understood.

With the addition of the multitude of heads atop the beast, it towered over everyone present. Its heard stretching up almost an additional 80 meters, bringing its eyes to be level with the very top of the city walls.

Each head was the size of small house, each neck wide enough for the average street.

It was a behemoth in the truest sense of the word. Yet what was terrifying for the king to consider was that he knew that this was not the beasts true size.

No, this was the beast in its combat form. When it allowed its true size to show it would be large enough to be able to easily step over the walls of Syan without issue.

It only chose to be this ’small’ size as it was easier to fight against being so much smaller than it like this.

The king felt a shiver run down his spine at the sight, any thoughts of strategy or relief he may have felt at the wild dragons appearance were washed away by an uncontrollable sense of fear at the beast before him.

It was as his mind was reeling from the emergence of the Hydra that he felt a mental bridge latch onto him, and by the slight flinch of every single person he could see the king assumed it went to everyone all at once.

The connection was not a two way one, simply being connected to enable to user to be heard by all present.

Then a voice came through into his head, it was slightly higher pitched than he expected, it held a undeniable hint of youth that spoke volumes considering the strength it also displayed. Yet it was the cold finality contained within the voice that truly snapped the king out of his funk, almost as much as the contents of the message did.

"I and the last Wild Dragon, Violet, the void Dragon. Soldiers of Eldor, surrender or die."

Then as if awaiting her words figures began to emerge from the forest behind the giant Hydra.

Hundreds of them at first, then thousands.

Beasts of all shapes and sizes emerged, from lizards to foxes to deer and more, the king though he even spotted some kind of snow leopard to his amazement.

The beasts just kept on emerging, they formed into no true formation, for what need did they have of a formation when they encircled the entirety of the human back lines.

They needed no strategy, for what use was strategy when strength was all that was needed.

The kings eyes opened even wider as he felt the strength of the beasts that had emerged, whilst the vast majority of them were tier 2’s and 3’s. Close to 300 of them were of the Lord level.

His eyes turned to the void dragon flying in the sky above even the Hydra. He finally began to understand exactly what was happening here, even when his mind failed to truly comprehend exactly how it was happening.

The Void Dragon, Violet, he reminded himself. Had somehow recruited an entire army of beasts, one of such might that it would be able to rival even Syan were they at their best.

It was a beast tide like no other, one being commanded not by the strongest beast present as would normally be right. No, it was all being led by a single beast, one that should not exist, one that resonated with the wilds on a fundamental level.

Every beast present here was not simply acting purely on instinct but being led by an intelligence, being led by the dragon flying above them.

The king felt a smile pull at his lips as the seemingly hopeless situation he had though this battle to be suddenly had a new variable.

A terrifyingly powerful variable in the form of a collossal Hydra, a Void Dragon, hundreds of Beast Lords and thousands of regular beasts.

And they had given an ultimatum to the soldiers of Eldor.

Now it was all up to how Eldor would respond.

The kings smile faltered however, when he heard laughter, his head turned in the direction of the only man crazy enough to laugh in such a situation, the Blood Sword Saint.

His smile faded once again when he saw the utter delight and maddened excitement that practically burned in the psychopaths eyes as he gazed hungrily at both the Dragon and the Hydra, the bloody ribbons around him lashing out in his excitement.

’Well’ thought the king as he let out a small sigh, ’I suppose a peaceful end to this battle was never truly on the tables was it?’
