Chapter 1518: Otherworldly!
A wry smile appeared on Lin Fan’s face when he saw them looking at him like this.
However, it wasn’t as if he didn’t have confidence to solve the question that had been placed in front of him.
That was because the moment that he saw those floating words, his system had already started its guidance. It had already shown how the words should be arranged and it was currently coming up with an answer for him.
So as long as Lin Fan wanted, he would be able to answer this question.
It was just that he didn’t know if he should.
In the end, he didn’t have a choice in the matter with how they looked at him, urging him to give the answer already.
At the same time, Lin Fan couldn’t help hesitating a bit since he didn’t know what he was supposed to use to answer.
Was he supposed to say the corresponding poem or was he supposed to write it down?
Though to be honest, it wasn’t as if he couldn’t figure out what he was supposed to do.
Just seeing the ink brush and the ink well that was on the table along with the scroll was enough to tell him what he was supposed to do. But that just made him feel a bit awkward because...
"Your writing..." Ye Qing Huan couldn’t help saying this as she watched him write on the scroll.
There was a very awkward smile that appeared on Lin Fan’s face.
Though he had been in this cultivation world for a while now and had used this kind of ink brush before, it wasn’t as if he was any good with it. He was someone that came from a modern world, so it wasn’t as if he ever had a chance to learn how to write with an ink brush.
At best, he had used an ink brush when he was younger.
So even if he had the chance to use it in this world, it wasn’t as if he would have gotten used to writing with the ink brush yet.
Which was why quite a few of his words were quite crooked.
Even Xiao Mu looked at Lin Fan with a trace of disdain when it saw the way that he wrote.
Lin Fan couldn’t help feeling a bit aggrieved by all of this, but it didn’t matter since it wasn’t the writing style that was important. The most important thing about what he wrote was the content of the words.
With the way that the words started glowing as he wrote them, it seemed like they were being accepted by the scroll.
When he made that final stroke, the glow that came from the words seemed to become even stronger. It was almost as if the last piece of the puzzle had been slotted in with the reaction that came from the words.
The words that were written on the page didn’t remain on the page, instead it started floating up into the air. They intertwined with the words that had already been floating there, as if there was some kind of connection between them.
Then all of a sudden, it seemed like there was something that drew the words together.
Before this, the question and answer had floated there separately from each other even though they intertwined with one another. They had kept an appropriate amount of space between them that they were still considered separate.
But then all of a sudden, the words that made up the question and answer slammed into each other.
It wasn’t that they were attacking each other, it was that they were being pushed together as if they were being merged into one.
It didn’t take long for these words to take another form.
This was different from the phenomenon outside, this wasn’t as flashy as that.
Rather, it took the shape of a peaceful hill.
That was because this was what the poem had been about.
From the phenomenon that was formed, there were a few animals that appeared on the hill as well. There were all kinds of animals that were large and small that appeared.
These were animals that should have been hunters and prey, but it seemed like they got along with each other inside of this image.
After all, this was what the poem had been about.
After the demonstration of friendship, the image that had been formed by the words suddenly disappeared. With how sudden it disappeared, it was almost as if it hadn’t been there at all.
"Very good, good poem!"
A booming voice filled the pavilion that made the three of them wince. Even though they were powerful cultivators that normally would have been able to resist all kinds of shock, this booming voice was just on a different level.
Though it wasn’t as if it was a bad thing.
This voice was filled with appreciation towards the poem that Lin Fan had just written, which was why it had created that booming sound in the first place.
It was a voice that was filled with passion, which made it so powerful.
When they were hit with this kind of voice, they really didn’t know how to feel about all of this. But at the very least, they knew that the owner of the voice wasn’t planning on hurting them.
Once the picture disappeared and the voice fell, the table itself seemed to sink into the ground. Though as it was sinking, it turned out that it was actually breaking down into different words that sunk into the ground.
Even the tables of this place were created with words...
Looking around, the three of them even started wondering if this pavilion itself was created from the words of a poem. It would make sense if that was the case with how things had been turning out.
But they didn’t have the time to think about this as more words gathered after those words sank into the ground.
The words that appeared took the form of another table, but it didn’t have the same thing as before. Instead of having a question on the piece of paper, this time it seemed like the word that was floating there was some kind of topic.
"Are we supposed to come up with a poem that follows this topic?" Lin Fan slowly asked when he saw this, but it didn’t seem like there was an answer for them.
So the only thing that they could do was...
"Why don’t one of you try it? I’m sure that you’ll do better than me."
Though Lin Fan said this, it didn’t seem like either Ye Qing Huan or Xiao Mu believed that this was the case. After all, the two of them had already seen the way that Lin Fan answered those questions earlier.
With that kind of talent, they didn’t believe that they would be able to surpass him when it came to writing poems.
Which was why the two of them both stepped back and waited for him to write on the piece of paper.
A bitter smile appeared on Lin Fan’s face when he saw them like this since it wasn’t as if he could do anything about this. Even though the topic was in front of him, it didn’t seem like the system was actually going to guide him.
This was something that made him feel very aggrieved since one moment, the system had been helping him. Then the next, the system was acting as if it was dead, even making him feel like he had been abandoned by it.
So in the end, Lin Fan had no choice but to draw on something else.
Luckily for him, this topic did make him think of something from his past life.
It was one of the poems that he had read for a literature class that he took in university.
It was a poem that had been considered one of the classics in his world...
"This shouldn’t be something that has been seen in this world, right?"
The only problem was that Lin Fan didn’t really memorize that poem, he only had a faint memory of the poem itself. So even if he wanted to use this poem, it wasn’t as if he could write the entire thing.
"Maybe just a bit of it will be enough?"
But as he started writing the opening to this poem, he found that the system came back to life.
The system actually displayed the entire poem for him just based on the opening part that he wrote.
"Weren’t you pretending to be dead?" Lin Fan couldn’t help asking the system, but like always the system just ignored him.
Since the system wasn’t bothering to argue with him, Lin Fan had no choice but to keep going with the poem that the system provided. It didn’t take him long to put the final stroke on that poem and put down the pen.
Only when he did, it didn’t seem like there was a reaction that came from the piece of paper that he wrote it on.
There was a part of Lin Fan that couldn’t help feeling worried since it was a different reaction from before.
There was a part of him that was even worried that this poem might have already existed in this world.
But it turned out that he had been worried for nothing.
"This poem...is otherworldly!"
As soon as that voice fell, there was a powerful glow that came from the words that were on the piece of paper.
